If you are coming up to the show then it is worth considering staying overnight and taking the opportunity to look around the historic market town of Newark.
For the military enthusiast, the town has the best preserved collection of civil war earthworks in England, a 12th century castle and is only a few miles from the site of the Battle of East Stoke (1487) where Henry VII finally disposed of the last major Yorkist rebellion against his rule.
For the family Newark has plenty of shops, cafes and other attractions and is only a short drive from Sherwood Forest.
In May the show weekend also coincides with the annual Real Ale festival, providing yet another reason for making it a full weekend at Newark.
Below we have provided details of some hotels and B&Bs which we think would be suitable for traders and gamers coming to the show. Please contact them directly to find out about up to date prices and availability and when you do please mention the show as we may be able to generate sufficient good will to negotiate discounts in future.
For further details please see the Newark and Sherwood DC accommodation pages at:
http://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/economicregeneration/placestostay/index.htm
Please note that in September the show often clashes with the Burleigh horse trials at Stamford. Although we are a good 45 minutes north of this event the hotels usually fill up very quickly and may be full some months prior to the date. So if you are sure you will be attending the show and wish to make an overnight stop then it is best to book as early as possible.
